I'm appalled at how long it's been since I've made a charity offer. Appalled, I tell you!

From the info at help_for_ephemere:

This is a fundraiser to benefit ephemere, with the aim of supporting her in the wake of her losing her job, home, and good relations with her family due to homophobia. The idea of this fundraiser was conceived by friends of ephemere, and is being run with her permission. Funds will go to rent, utilities, food, and medical bills.

We are accepting donations (please contact the mods via PM for more details) & are also running an auction as follows:

The auction will open for offers on Thursday, July 5.

All auctions will open for bids on Thursday, July 12.

Bidding will be open from Thursday, July 12 at 21:00 GMT to Saturday, July 21 at 21:00 GMT (time zone converter).

Help the Philippines!

Over 900 people in Mindanao, Philippines, have died in the floods that Typhoon Sendong (local name)/Washi (international name) just days before Christmas. Hundreds more are missing.

Please help us in putting together donations for these people who desperately need your help.

Current Events

Hey folks :) I wanted to have a new pattern up today, but unfortunately my life has dissolved into a hot mess. I need to move out of my apartment by noon tomorrow, and open the registration desk for AnimeIowa by sometime tonight. Between the two of them, those tasks have me almost completely occupied.

If I get a spare hour or two, I'll try and see if I can't get the pattern up anyway. Otherwise, well, I'll either see you next month, or at AnimeIowa.

For those of you who can make it there: I'll be running the panel Plushie Madness at 5:00 pm Friday. I'll be at the con all weekend, wearing this and handing out flyers for the Brain Slug Party. Hope to see you there!

Edit: I'm officially back and more-or-less recovered from AnimeIowa! Special thanks to everyone who stopped to admire (or buy! :O) my work, who showed up at my panel or just asked questions, and everyone who showed up in general. I've got some unpacking to do after my move, but I'm hoping to get the "Lemonsnout" (officially: small scalemate) pattern up later this evening or tomorrow.

On an unrelated note, a friend of mine from a feminist blog I follow is selling bearded dragon amigurumi with 50% of all profits going to benefit live bearded dragons in rescues. Please stop by if you're interested in helping animals in sticky situations. [Content Note] for some discussion of people being jerks to animals.

A help_pakistan pattern! Not the custom pattern (I'm still working on that one), but a pattern from one of the custom amigurumi I offered to make. I've gotten confirmation from all of my bidders now (yay!), but only requests from two, and now I've, uh. Finished one already ._.a See, inspiration took hold, and would not let me go, so. Uh. ...Look, I'm really tempted to make some sort of "pony express" joke here, but history jokes are better left in the hands of the master herself, so I'll just do some linkdropping and get to pattern posting.

Help Pakistan: First round closed

The first round of auctions at help_pakistan has closed. There were four winners in total, which means up to four new patterns to go up on this blog, and that much more aid to Pakistan. I am planning to sign up for the second round, which is coming up in about a week, though I don't yet know exactly what I will be offering. (Well, aside from two specific things, which I am attempting to keep slightly under wraps for the moment...) I suppose it'll depend on when the product deadline is.

Anyhow, patterns that are definitely coming:
* Kumano 900 from U900
* The fat pony from Hark! A Vagrant

Will there be others? Well, not necessarily for this round. I'll find out for certain as the other winners contact me.

Look forward to a pattern for Buu-chan, AnimeIowa's mascot, in the near future; I finished him up on Saturday, so there's no conflict of interest, yay \o/

Help Pakistan

help_pakistan is a mostly fandom-oriented charity bidding community set up to offer relief to Pakistan from the recent flooding. My threads are up over ~~here~~ (finished amigurumi) and ~~here~~ (custom pattern) [AUCTION CLOSED].

If you have ever wanted one of the amigurumi I've made, whether the pattern is up here or not, I would like to urge you to put in a bid over there. In fact, I'd recommend you look around everywhere, in case you might see something you want. Pakistan is in desperate need of help, and this is a great way to do it.

Edit: Bidding closes when this clock runs out. There will be a second round of bids and offers in about a week, which I also plan to participate in, so if this round was bad timing for you, you've got another chance on the horizon.

I also found Kero-chan's pattern, and now have multiple copies, so expect that up soon-ish!

Hello all, I'm back from Real Life :) Er, well, more-or-less. Met a bunch of fantastic people at AnimeIowa, where I was a total egomaniac ^^a Had a blast with everyone. An extra hello and also internet hugs (if wanted) to anyone I met there ♥

I'll be putting up Burupya's pattern at a more coherent hour (I'm currently pretending it's not ~3:30 AM in my time zone), and Kero-chan's will be following just as soon as I find out where I put it and type it up -_-a At least I kept Kero-chan, so I can roughly work the pattern out backwards from him...

In the mean time, here's ~~me blatantly showing off~~ some preview pictures of the projects to come :3b
