Pony Picture Gallery
I'm going to stick all of my My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic pictures here for easier access, especially since I get the feeling I'll be adding to this. Newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.
This post is IMAGE HEAVY, so keep that in mind if you've got a slow connection. You might be happier with the MLP:FIM tag at my regular gallery.
As always, the pony pattern is over here, and a bunch of how-to-crochet tutorials and such can be found over here. Thank you very much for your time!

Rainbow Dash. My crocheted pony lineup is now 20% cooler ;) Yes, I went there.

Rarity. Her hair was a pain in the butt to make, I will not deny it. Sadly, it's also not "perfect". I'm sorry for failing you, Rarity! I'll do better in the future!

Good ol' Fluttershy, my first crocheted pony :) I seriously need to re-do her mane.

Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy. Because Rainbow Dash is going overseas reasonably soon, and I wasn't sure when or if I'd be able to get another group shot in. So why not?

Dr. Whooves (or Dr. Whoof, if you prefer). He was fairly straightforward to crochet and put together. I was originally hoping to have him finished (and thus be able to hock him) for AnimeIowa, but that didn't happen. He's finished now, though! Now I just need to slap his picture/s up somewhere I can potentially sell him...
FFVII Ponies: The following pieces are largely based on this amazing piece of fanart.I've not been able to get in contact with the artist, so if you know them (or are them!), please point them here and let them know I'd like to talk to them about my having crocheted stuff based on their work? Contact made, and a million thanks to
SolidPersona for pointing them to me!

Vincent!Pony, decked out in all of his glorious accessories :Dbb
Pictures of Vincent and his accessories separate can now be found here, to save bandwidth and loading time.

Standard PegaCid. I feel somewhat ethically weird about actually having made him a cigarette, as standard US anti-drug propaganda was pounded pretty thoroughly into my head at a young age, but it's accurate to the character so I went with it.
Pictures of Cid and his accessories separate can now be found here, to save on bandwidth and loading time.

Cloud pony! Oh man, his hair was a pain and a half. I ended up using both plain white glue (my standard 'hair spray') and, in the end, semi-tying it to his ears to help that spike stay up. I shoulda just gone with hot glue, but I guess it's a live-and-learn situation :/
The color combination turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Dunno why I doubted it; maybe it's just from having grown up with a red-green colorblind sibling. Kinda makes putting purple and blue together an automatic no-no for most situations.

Clothed Sephy-kins! I went with very slightly different colors of yarn for his coat and mane/tail, because it made my teeth itch to think of them being the exact same color. I also think his mane and tail ended up a little long even for him, but whatever, they look fine.
Pictures of Sephiroth and his accessories separate can be found here, to save on bandwidth and loading time.

This one cracks me up for no good reason. Who thought Cloud could be so well balanced without his rear legs? Must be a center of gravity thing.

Three characters is also enough for a party! Time to go adventuring :Db

Shippy bonus ;) I tried to stick Cid's cigarette in Vincent's mouth for more implied kissing, but the stitches weren't cooperating and I was low on time. Maybe next time...
A NOTE ON ACCESSORIES: Due to the level of difficulty involved in attempting to explain how I made the various accessories work, I have no plans to share the patterns publicly, especially for free. I have other patterns I've been meaning to type up, not only for
hooked_on_anime but also to sell at my Etsy account, and writing out exactly how I made various accessories takes a level of time and energy I'm not currently willing to commit. If you're still desperately interested in how I made one or two accessories, you can PM me and I may share it with you there. Otherwise, I encourage you to experiment on your own.

Lion King?
(Anonymous) 2012-02-13 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)1. I love your patterns (particularly MLP)
2. If you were to make some Lion King patterns, say, for Simba and Nala, I would instantly become your biggest fan ever lol. :D
Re: Lion King?
1) Thank you so much!
2) Hmm; I can't say I've considered making patterns for the Lion King before, but I'll definitely give it some thought. I'm not sure when I'd get to it, since there's several other ideas on my plate, but it does sound like fun! We'll see what happens, I guess :)

Sephy-kins'Sephiroth's pictures up yet; I've been lax about editing his photos 9_9aA-anyway! What I wanted to talk to you about. See, since I am getting paid to make these, and you did do the design work, I was wondering if you have a PayPal account I could maybe send a little compensation to? Or if I could send you a crocheted thing maybe? Or even if you just want the patterns for their accessories, I will totally do that; I was planning on just sitting on those, since I can be selfish sometimes, but I do have them and would share them with you - or everyone, if you decided I should.
I just - I feel bad that I didn't/couldn't even ask and am getting money for using your designs, so. I mean, I won't complain if you say I don't have to! But I do want to make sure you don't feel cheated or anything? And y-yeah. That is the thing, I guess! Um. Thoughts?

Also, what is Barret's cutie mark, I can't quite make it out. It looks like a gun and a heart, sort of? I've already resorted to other sources for Vincent and Sephiroth, and now's an excellent time to hear it straight from the
pony'shorse's mouth, as it were.no subject
What. Even was Barret's cutie mark, let's see. I think it was a rifle and a heart. Like that cupid-heart/arrow tattoo thing? But with guns. Because Barret.
FANDOM SECRET I covered Vincet with a flowy cloak so I wouldn't have to come up with a cutie mark for him, and I obfuscated Sephiroth's with his badass longcoat for similar reasons, whoops.
I may be kinda slow with getting a Zack out, though. I've got finals in two weeks, so my life is a hectic pile of research presentations and papers and also nonsense (now watch as I do it like tomorrow...)

Rifle and a heart, got it :3b
...Please excuse me while I lol forever. No, seriously; you have no idea how many people I interrogated to try and figure out what Seph's cutie mark was (answers were along the lines of "A sword", "A sword with wings", "Some weird glowy thing", and "I have no effing idea"), and now I find out that there was no real cutie mark in the first place. I mean, Vincent's was almost easy in comparison, since there wasn't anything to try and figure it out from in the first place, but an only partially obscured cutie mark made me think it was actually supposed to be something, and it wasn't. I just - the irony. I am hilaritized by it.
No worries; I've still got up to four more ponies to make before I get to Zack, and even one pony a week is booking it for me. (Though I do know how the distraction vs responsibility game goes 9_9a)
